my #1 comes to us from the people of KMT. (ke-MET)

aka - in the deceivers tongue - ancient egypt.
this place was actually known to them as the "black lands" or Kmt and they actually referred to themselves as "Km" or "black" people. this self identifying word later became rooted in other ancient languages such as the ancient hebrew words Kam and Ham which both refer to dark skinned people in the hebrew tradition.
Egypt is striking because of the fact that it is literally a sparse, huge desert in our times, with a great river flowing through it that is like a vein carrying sacred life blood to countless people and serving as both the literal and spiritual heartbeat of a land for millenia.
upon the waters of this great river which they called Iteru, there grows a beautiful violet water lilly with a goldenrod yellow center.
Nymphaea Caerulea. the blue water lilly.
or as my people know it, the Blue Lotus.
along with papyrus reed, this flower was part of the backbone of the Kmt civilization. however, unlike the former, it escapes the text books and mainstream knowledge.
on the surface, before things start to get esoteric, the blue lotus was something of a national flower to these people. it symbolized the union between upper and lower egypt.
furthermore, it symbolizes the union of the divine feminine and masculine.
in the beginning, as their medicine people say, there was only the waters of chaos. darkness covered the endless, abyssal ocean until the primeval water lily began to rise.
slowly the blue water lily opened its petals to reveal a young god sitting in its golden heart. A sweet perfume drifted across the waters and light streamed from the body of this Divine Child to banish universal darkness. this child was the Creator, the Sun God, the source of all life.
so the Primeval Water Lily closed its petals at the end of each day... chaos reigned through the night until the god within the water lily returned. ... the Creator ... knew that he was alone. this solitude became unbearable and he longed for other beings to share the new world with him. the thoughts of the Creator became the gods and everything else which exists. When his thoughts had shaped them, his tongue gave them life by naming them. thoughts and words were the power behind creation.
saw that the blue water lily opened up each morning, seeing the intense golden center set against the blue petals, seemingly an imitation of the sky that would greet the sun, releasing sweet perfume. Each afternoon, they would close again only to open again each day. The flower was therefor firmly linked with the rising and the setting of the sun, and thus to the sun god and the story of creation. The religious significance of the flower was great - many columns of the Kemetian temples had water lily capitals crowning them. "
- gathered from shamanic tradition of morrocco, egypt and the red sea.
"I am he who rises and lights up wall after wall, each thing in succession. There will not be a day that lacks its owed illumination. Pass on, O creatures, pass on, O world! Listen! I have ordered you to! I am the cosmic water lily that rose shining from Nuns black primordial waters, and my mother is Nut, the night sky. O you who made me, I have arrived, I am the great ruler of Yesterday, the power of command is in my hand." - from the book of the dead.
indeed the flower does open its petals to reveal its core during the day, and closes again at night.
when consumed raw, in food, or made as a tea or steeped in alcohol this plant has effects that range from medicinal to narcotic in nature. we are all adults here, and nothing about sacred medicines is about the cycle of addiction or just using these beautiful, sacred plants as a means to an end to catch a buzz.
i expect you all to carry yourself with your own discretion.
1 to 3 grams is great for daytime social anxiety and for pepping up mood and energy in general.
the Kmt called this flower "the flower of intuition". it was used in many rituals and sacraments and even buried with the deal.
anything from 1 to 10 grams can be used with correct caution and privacy for meditation, to do readings or things like tarot, or if you're like me just to start dancing around out in the sun making indian sounds. hote.
higher doses at night will help you relax.
this flower also is a wonderful supplement for a healthy weight, and a good diet in general, it is anti obesity and anti diabetes in general.
the active ingredients in our wonderful purple water lilly are as follows..
apomorphine - THIS IS NOT AN OPIATE. it is a dopamine agonist that is used in modern medicine to help people with parkinsons. it levels dopa synergic activity in the brain. it levels your mood, it helps with motivation, energy levels, social anxieties, and is very promising for nerve issues like fibromyalgia or neuropathy.
it benefits people who have add or adhd and definitely helps with depressive episodes.
it is a nonselective dopamine receptor agonist and at higher doses can be used as a sedative/hypnotic for insomnia, depression and potentiation of analgesia from other agents including opiates and things like sage.
it has very promising effects in the treatment of alcohol and drug addiction.
the other active ingredient is Nuciferine.
Nuciferine is an antagonist at 5-HT2A, 5-HT2C, and 5-HT2B, an inverse agonist at 5-HT7, a partial agonist at D2, D5 and 5-HT6, an agonist at 5-HT1A and D4 receptors.
in a nutshell this means that this alkaloid has effects that are useful for insomnia, depression, general anxiety, night terrors, and have a natural "anti psychotic effect".
they behave a lot like pharmacuetical alpha and beta blockers but with more clinical value, a better safety profile and less bad sife effects like dizziness and etc.
it's good for people that have high blood pressure and is a wonderful agent in the fight against obesity, diabetes, and food addiction.
it also acts a mildly stimulating mood stabilizer.

How to Prepare for simple use - Dried Flower
this one is pretty simple for the dried version, some of it already comes as tea.
it genuiinely has a similar taste to traditional sweet tea given all the right fixings. it goes well with Green Tea and is realy great with other herbs and things you'll find on this list, too.
it can be smoked the same way you'd smoke any dried plant matter, hint hint.
it also has historically been soaked in wine overnight and then strained.

MAKING BLUE LOTUS ESSENTIAL OIL:
most people will call for jojoba oil but i prefer using coconut oil for this bc it smells wonderful.
you can also use olive oil, apricot oil, or sweetened almond oil.
in a mason jar mix equal parts oil and dried lotus blossoms. seal. let it sit overnight.
in the morning unseal, strain the oil and discard the used flowers.
add fresh blossoms to taste/satisfaction.
repeat this every day for 3 weeks and you will have highly potent blue lotus essential oil.
